A Trusted Garage Door Opener in New Zealand
Why Choose a Merlin Garage Door Opener?
Merlin is part of the Chamberlain Group, a global manufacturer of residential and commercial access solutions. Chamberlain Group designs and engineers garage door openers under brands including Merlin, Chamberlain and Grifco.
Merlin has been established in the Australasian garage door market for many years, and it is not unusual to come across older Merlin openers that have continued operating reliably for decades.
This long service life is one of the reasons Merlin has earned a strong reputation among New Zealand homeowners.
Eden Garage Doors
Merlin Professional Dealer
At Eden Garage Doors, we specialise in garage door openers and are a Merlin Professional Dealer.
We don’t simply select a motor based on its advertised lifting capacity.
Before recommending an opener, we assess the condition and operation of the garage door, including the door balance, springs, cables, rollers, tracks and overall condition of the door.
This is important because an automatic opener should not be expected to compensate for a door that is heavy, unbalanced, sticking or mechanically worn. Merlin’s own installation guidance also stresses that a garage door should be properly balanced and operate correctly before an opener is installed.
We can then recommend the Merlin model that is appropriate for your particular door and requirements.
Professional Installation Matters
The quality of a garage door opener installation is just as important as the quality of the opener itself.
A correctly installed system should have:
- Correct opener positioning
- Correct door travel and limit settings
- Appropriate force settings
- Properly adjusted safety reverse function
- Correctly installed safety sensors where applicable
- Smooth and balanced door operation
Merlin’s professional installation and warranty requirements also emphasise the importance of a properly balanced and professionally maintained garage door.
